Oils went nearly 20 minutes without a shot on net , overall team D was terrible

Cant pin it all on Skinner , he made some big saves

Goaltending is a complete crap shoot and Oils misfired on their scoring chances

Great team effort to dig down though and make the most of their strengths after the first. They made Edmonton fade out.

Skinner will make most of his big saves immediately after giving up a back-breaking softie. Everything with him is about "remediation". How about not creating the disaster to start with?

The thing is he had 1.5 GGA the last 3 games

Helly couldnt stop a beach ball and he is winning the Vezina this year

A third stringer saved the Nucks season , nobody has a clue what your getting

He had that GAA because the Oilers limited the opposition to under 20 shots on goal in each game. Even then he managed to make what should have been cakewalks into nail-biters because he's crap. And once you get above 20 shots he's probably losing that game unless McDavid goes mental at the other end of the rink. It's not sustainable against a good team. The Kings and Canucks were frauds. The Stars are legit.

Yeah, if people have to make excuses for Skinner year after year and keep pointing to the positives in his game, then things aren't quite right in the Oilers net. Other mediocre goalies have won Cups in the recent past, but it's a high risk gamble for the Oilers to count on that happening.

True but when your team doesnt get a shot for nearly 20 minutes and plays shit team D , thats what you get
 
Skinner may become great in 3 or 4 years but that doesn't help the Oilers now. They need to win a Cup this year or next. Once the contracts of 97 and 29 are up the party is over.
