2025-2026 Off Season Thread - The Rehappening

JT can still have most of his salary buried if he retires cause he is not 35 yet? is that right? i.e. he is not one of those 'retirement' contracts...

if that's so, then yeah, tack on the term to get the AAV down. if that is not so, drag his dick (gently) over broken glass in negotiations...

Head to Head in playoffs

Marchand: 7gms, 5v5 13:29 (-1.3dzs%), 1.90p1/60, 3.81p/60 --- 5v4 1:27, 0.00p1/60, 5.83p/60 ---- 3.97ht/60, 1.98bk/60, 0.99gv/60, 0.49tk/60
Pacioretty: 7gms, 5v5 11:41 (-3.2dzs%), 2.94p1/60, 3.67p/60 --- 5v4 0:59, 8.65p1/60, 8.65p/60 ---- 25.38 ht/60, 2.67bk/60, 2.67gv/60, 0.66tk/60

He did exactly what most of us said he would. Be a pretty mediocre addition and break down physically, playing just as much as needed to trigger his bonuses.

Yes, he then had a good playoff for us which was much appreciated but you're talking like he came in and gave us 30 goals last year or something. dude scored 5 goals in 37 games. Relax

Patches was good in the regular season, and very good in the playoffs. for peanuts.

You guys were wrong about how good he was, and now continue to say he could only be a 12/13th forward because he is old. While eagerly lining up to pay actual real money for real term for even older players

I know it's hard to accept that he matched up quite well with the older marchand when we played them these playoffs. And of course, their price points won't be remotely similar this offseason.

He was pretty bad.

Like I said. I'd take him for the minum as depth, but no more than that. I think it wouldn't cost much to get better players. There is a big range between Patches for $1.5 mill and Marchand for $8.

Never mind that I want Cowan to get a real shot, on top of getting an impact forward or two (if Marner goes).

I mean he had what, like three separate injury stints this year? which is what most of us forecast, and turned out to be accurate. he's not reliable as a full-time guy for the season and playoffs.

Marchy has been way more durable recently than Patches, too.

and has anyone even said what kinda contract they'd be okay with for Marchy?

also, are you suggesting you are opposed to signing Marchy? you're maybe his biggest fan here

show the actual GF/GA instead of just rate stats...
