2025-2026 Off Season Thread - The Rehappening

I like the opportunity taking on Maccelli represents.

If he doesn't do well, oh well, he's let go the next year. If he does, he's going to want to get paid $5m or more. If we're looking to open space for McDavid, he'd be someone that we could then sell high and get something, and clear space at the same time.

Not sure they're going 1 year deals strategy all the way, but this one fits nicely and could reward.

Who were his linemates mostly last year? Aka who can we blame his shit nerdies on? At least we know his offensive production was clearly fake and gay with that oish% but I assume he was playing with some shit players if he didn't get many dzone starts and his rel xgf was poop.

can't blame linemates for last year, but in general he's been stuck playing with plugs his whole career.

his brief times with Cooley and Keller have always been very productive tho, even last year.

And of course, Kerfoot did us a solid and did his usual sabotage too.

If the nerds are confident, I say get aggressive and extend him now if he's up for it. They may have to play him with Matthews all year by necessity, which means his numbers will get jacked and you won't be able to keep him at value. Take that risk if you're truly confident that he's at least half decent.

I'm just happy that we're making "risky" swings on talent.

Though, Robbie has better production nerdies over the last 3 years (including the 2 good Macelli years) and we're probably going to jettison him now for reasons instead of giving him an actual opportunity on an offensive line.

I'd be blown away if we kept and played both. Unfuckinglikely though.

I'm not huge on Robbie but giving him 0 minutes with Matthews was always a crime. I get that they're both shoot-first guys but you have to try it.

Robbie is really good. They're so stupid for not using the shit out of him, and completely nuts if they dump him now.

I’m surprised the trade wasn’t Robertson for Macelli — two youngish, smallish guys who were unhappy being healthy scratches

Solid win for Tre
