2025-2026 Off Season Thread - The Rehappening

eh did you see willy's patheticness in the dzone the last few games. absolutely embarassing stuff.

Yes, I saw Willy be shit in the defensive zone. Care, but don't care. Score goals. Putting the puck in the net is the single most important skill in the game. There's no second skill that is close in importance, and Willy scores a lot and scores a lot in the playoffs. We can work around the deficiencies.

and mitch would score just as much if he had the easy matchups.

The fuck he would.

The difference between Mitch scoring at a 40 goal pace in the playoffs, and a 13 goal pace in the playoffs is not "matchups"

Tbh maybe I'm being emotional and I'm speaking too soon after a loss, but I'm not gonna get too picky on which of the two wingers I'd keep. They can both go. But if one of them has potential to yield a difference maker in return, color me interested in that vs losing the other guy for nothing and having cap space and a shit ufa crop (where you'd need to overpay someone else) to recoup the loss.

well FUCK YOU and CALM THE FUCK DOWN.

Tomorrow better be good. Auston better come out a broken cock or worse so we can rejoice and all agree to run it back because next year he'll definitely be healthy. Then we can thank Jeremy for keeping us all calm.

Marner would have to be a masochist to want to sign here at this point.

Best thing for his mental health is to gtfo and don't look back until he's ready for a retirement redemption tour
Yeah that's the other thing. The Nylander trade hypothetical assumes they can get an elite talent in a return and that Mitch would be interested in re-signing. Both longshots at best.

I think everyone needs to calm down and not rush on Cowan. Let him marinate for 5, 6, 14 years before they bring him up. He needs to learn how to be a pro and that takes time.

If you stay calm, you can think a lot better and act more normal than if you allow yourself to go crazy.
