I would do a Dach for Cozens swap - both have similar issues (faceoffs & defensive awareness). Cozens has more pace to his game & is signed longterm to a much more lucrative contract. Dach has had more injury issues
So would I but why would Buffalo? I don't see a fit here at all.

Cozens is probably the better player. They were also discussing trading him for Pettersson so I don’t think money is a factor. I don’t think we’re good trading partners with Buffalo for Cozens but who knows? HuGo have surprised us before.

Not just the Habs, but the league in general after the St. Louis - Edmonton situation last summer.
They talked about if the Habs would go down that path, the player they'd think about is Noah Dobson.

Probably but stats are very similar this year, despite Dach horrific start of the season, they’re the same age, and Cozens makes twice as much for 5 more years. I don’t think it’s completely off. Depends what the other teams offer, if the Sabres want another center in return, and if the other teams have a better center to offer. I think we’re would need to add a bit though.
I think we’re a decent trade partner actually.

I don’t really believe in hostile offers for star players, the overpay is generally too prohibitive, but in terms of of salary and assets.
