The big problem with Cozens is his contract, but even that's managable with the salary cap going up.
For discussion's sake, let's assume he isn't as bad as he is this season and he isn't as good as his best season (31g 37A in 81GP), but year over year he'll be a +/- 20G 30A center. $7.1M is a lot of money for a good #3 center.
His contract won't prevent us from re-signing Hutson and after Hutson, the next big contract we'll need to give out is Demidov. Thankfully, even if we're tight on money, by the summer of 2028, Cozens' contract is off the books and Anderson & Gallagher are both up a year before and Laine's going to be gone as well.
I would consider trading for him, but I'm not giving up a ton to get him.
