Watching this Devils-Rangers game makes me want a deal that could get us Lafreniere. Pipe dream, I know, but maybe if/when the Rangers miss the playoffs they decide to go nuts.

Question: John Tavares turns 35 in mid-September, prior to start of 25-26 season, thus is eligible per CBA to a 1-yr 35+ bonus structured contracts w only base salary counting vs cap.

Should longer term C options not be viable this summer & Tavares will need to take hometown discount to stay in T-dot…

Offer Tavares 1-yr / $12-$14M AAV deal ($1M base + remaining bonus)?

Actually there is one scenario, he comes out next year and take the spot by force, That’s the ideal scenario.

I was talking about Dach, whom I have given up on, but was throwing out a rosy scenario. Hage is 2-3 years away.

I wouldn’t give up on Dach….he’s gonna be a great winger for either Suzuki or Demidov’s line.

I even think Dach works better with Cole-Suzuki than Slaf….eventually Slaf goes on 2nd line with Demidov

And Dach’s cap hit is pretty low for what he can bring playing as a winger for Suzuki….
