It may well work out in the end, but they’ve taken a helluva risk given that Necas still has a year.

I can see Hugo move out expiring vets with other assets to get an impact player in return for the future

I would think so. We're not making the playoffs this season - too many better teams to climb over - but we are "in da mix." Mission accomplished. On to the future.

Unlikely yes but wouldn’t be so definitive - win next 3GP and Habs are likely sitting 2-3 pts out at this time next week while creating distance from bottom-10 of standings

With so many teams “in da mix” deadline may just end up being a nothing burger
Yup , teams may not want to tweak with chemistry
Typically you get about 20- 30 moves with maybe 5 that may move the needle
Word here is Tanev maybe out long term with his arm that may force a desperate move
