But i completely understand Avs process. If Rantanen was a C with his numbers, he’d already be extended for 8 years. But he’s a winger, and Avs already won their Cup….so they are comfortable rolling the dice without Rantanen, especially with Mackinnon and Makar on the roster.

It’s gonna be hard finding players ready to replace them….Evans does a lot of little things that takes the load off our top 6 forwards

Instead of $4M x 5 yrs, settle at $4.75M x 4years, w heavy bonus structure first 3yrs (90%) be done with & focus on the rest of the season towards a potential wildcard spot
Todays $3.5M AAV = approx $5M in 2028 (taking into account cap inflation + min 3% YOY escalation)
