But he gave up the better asset Lindgren, who when paired with an offensive Dman is very effective like say Makar….

NYR’s demise would be excellent.

Mailloux still seems to be having defensive issues in Laval, gotta wonder if there’s some potential of Mailloux for Zegras as principles in a deal

Myabe they see more potential in Mailoux. Or they dont want to pay a guy who puts up no points 5.75 m next season.
The issue with Mailoux isn’t his potential. Its’s his ability to make good decisions when under pressure from the opposing team. I think they’d want a Hage level prospect in return . . . so basically Hage.

The issue with Zegras is he can't score or stay healthy. He had miniscus surgery in December , then ankle surgery in January. Last year he mused 51 games. They aren't trading from a position of strength.
They can still do better than Mailoux.
