Should have moved some of those guys sooner. Maybe not all, but they need to get a haul or two. They’ve missed the POs three years in a row now and what do they have to show for it?

Well yeah... which is why they need to do it now. They blew it by not tearing down at least 2 years ago... but there's no sense in compounding that mistake by getting no value out of anyone.

Yeah, they’ll might as well recoup something. But Crosby will play out his career on a really bad team.
I'd definitely bet on that if I had to bet. I just think there's a chance the reality is playing on a bottom 5 team might not appeal to one of the most competitive players we've ever seen.

The Leafs, by contrast, did what they were already doing before he arrived and every season since: losing in the playoffs.

If you offered Tavares money to Duchene, he'd definitely sign... and I'd prefer him.
