2026 Hurricanes Off Season Thread

For anyone going on the Finland trip, check your email. We’re getting “an exclusive Global Series Branded Insulated Full Zip Jacket” that will be available for pickup in October. Sizing is due by September 9.

Yes, my wife and I both got the email and all members of our friends group did too.
 
Apologies for going off on a tangent. I have trouble letting go of things I perceive as wrong.

I've had cats most of my life and will continue to as long as I'm drawing breath. Here's a pic of me with a buddy of mine from half a lifetime ago when he was around four months old. I used to take him swimming at Jordan Lake (in the secluded coves) until he got too big to handle. I stopped at a rest stop on I-40 to let him take care of some business when he was about 2 months old and got surrounded by travelers who were freaking out, taking pictures, and everybody wanted to hold him. FWIW, tigers are the ultimate chick magnet.

The trick to posting photos here that you take on your phone is to open the photo and then do a screenshot (for me its the right side button and volume up) the screenshot of the photo is a lower resolution and you can upload it to this site that way. Thats always my work around
 
For those going to Finland, there is an email with your bus transfer assignments from Helsinki airport to the hotel. That Air France flight from Paris to Helsinki is going to be half Caniacs.
 
We have an EBUG. Based on the new rules, Jorge Alves qualifies, so he’s it.

Other organizational changes. Head trainer Doug Bennett is leaving, replaced by Donnie Fuller who worked for the Wild and US Men’s National Team. Cam Ward moves from goalie scout to assistant goalie development coach, working with the goalies assigned to Greensboro. Dustin Tokarski replaces him as goalie scout. Mike Sundheim retains his title but will manage all aspects of the Hurricanes Hockey Network. Madison White has been promoted and will be the primary media contact.

My son and I went to a great event last night at the Cary Tennis center that had Fishy, Svech, Chatty and JWilly playing a little Pickleball. The Cup was there, Stormy was there and we had a great little chat with the legend Phil Pritchard, his job to me has to be one of life’s great careers! 38 years and counting for old Phil!
