Around the League: 2019-2020 Regular Season

Rolex , what are the Habs doing with season tickets for next season , most likely with no fans

They making you pony up money

they offered credits and rebates if you accept to NOT be reimbursed the remaining 4 games that were lost. They also promise a price freeze if you choose NOT to be reimbursed the remaining 4 games, but rather opt to leave it as a credit towards next year.

So basically they want you to NOT choose to be reimbursed....

did i mention they make you an offer you can’t refuse just so you choose NOT to be reimbursed the non-played 4 games....i think i might have mentioned it

i call it the Air Canada strategy

I joined a very active SIM League a month ago to satisfy my hockey cravings.
29 teams, player ratings based on NHL performances.

I took over a very good win-now team without much extra depth or picks to trade to better the only position of weakness of the team : goalies.
Also in this league trading for goalies is very expensive and GMs hold on to them.

Championship goalies should have at least a rating of 76.
Top 5 goalies like Helleybuyck and Vasilevskiy have a ratings of 80.

I own Thomas Greiss (74) and Cam Talbot (73). Greiss had a rating of 77 last season which is good enough, but he dropped a bit this season.
I am considering buying low on Braden Holtby (68) in the hope that he rebounds next season.

NOW for the Around the League question : Which of these 3 UFA to be goaltenders has the brightest future ?
The future is muddy to say the least for all of them.

With the arrival of Sorokin, Greiss should be done in Long Island, will he manage to get the same numbers or better on another team ?

Talbot had great moments in his 26 starts in Calgary last year, can he do better next year in Calgary or somewhere else ?

Holtby had the most starts of them all but that did not translate well into my league; he needs better GAA and Save % to have a better rating.
All things being equals I would prefer to bet on Holtby to bounce back even tho his numbers have been falling for 3 seasons in a row, BUT that's an expensive gamble to take when you take into consideration his salary ($6,100,000, maybe more next year).

How would you ranked them in terms of performances next season ?

On that same topic. I just started a new sim league. We're starting from scratch with every player being an FA... you bid how much you're willing to pay. NHL salary cap will be followed.
Spots available... anyone who's interested, let me know.
