Dude just came back from neck surgery that left him unable to work out for months while he and the Sabres fucked about.
 
fair enough but this is a guy who has top 10 scorer ability. I did think he was able to train, or else how has he been able to come back and play in the NHL for 31 games..but if he didn't then yeah maybe he's not back to a high level till next year.

That unexpected run to the finals definitely fucked them, at least as far as sustained on-ice success goes.

With the way they made out like bandits in their expansion draft, they should have been positioned to build a team that could be a contender for a generation.

Instead they’re looking more like San Jose at the end of the Marleau/Thornton era.
 
Dunno if Eichel will ever hit 50g but you would have to assume he'll be able to hit 40 at some point? And blaming your shitty teams will only carry so far
 
I don't know what Galant did, but putting in Deboer was not the right call IMO. Yes he brought them back to the finals, but I think Galant could have done the same.

They really rushed that decision. Kind of like how they run the franchise. they were playing fine when they fired him. That owner seems hands-on.
