Around the League 2019-2024 Edition

Drinking your face off and throwing money away at the casino gets old. Seeing fights/concerts/shows/etc for the 3.5 months of the year that you're actually "home" wouldn't. These guys are on the road for 3.5 months of the year, and in their off season home training for 4.5-5 months of the year.

Anywhere gets old when you've spent enough time there, but I imagine the novelty of a 25C day off in February being spent at a Vegas pool party wears off a little slower than say, hitting up West Edmonton Mall on a double day date with Connor.
Actually, Vegas gets cold enough in the winter that the hotel pools are closed during the winter months. I was there over xmas one year for a friend's wedding (they got married by fat Elvis) and at night you needed a jacket. It was pleasant during the day but none of the outdoor hotel pools were open.

By contrast, the West Edmonton Mall's wave pool is open year round, as is the hockey rink. There is also ample free parking.

Yeah, this is me at this point.

Between a decade of no playoffs and several more years of first round exits, I’m sick to death of playoff hockey that doesn’t include the only team I’m emotionally invested in.

Once the Leafs are out, I usually turn it off the rest of the way. At most, I might start watching again in a Cup final elimination game, if even that.
I have two teams in which I am emotionally invested, albeit for very different reasons. But once they are no longer playing, I don't give a shit who wins or loses. I've skipped watching most SCF's over the last 20 years. Last season was the first final I watched in its entirety in years, and only because the Habs were playing. Even then I found it boring because the end result was preordained. As soon as Tampa beat the Isles in Game 7, I knew that the end result was academic. I doubt I bother watching the final this year unless the Oilers somehow fluke their way in. And even then I'd only be watching because the entire city will be riveted.

it's cute that you may be more emotionally invested in the Leafs than many Leaf fans!

Yeah I went in December and damn, it was cold. Needed my tuque in the Grand canyon

Fuck off. Also fuck these panther fans, can't even sustain a cheer. It's like bingo in here waiting for the next fucking number.

Lmao the refs call a BS late game potentially game changing penalty against the Bolts. Something they didn't so once against the Bolts on round 1.
