bit like a gambler who rolls into town, wins big early in the night then gives it all back to the house.
I think an issue is that owner. I've seen interviews with him and he seems pretty hands on and would be vocal in what he wants. But they are very close to having to rebuild. After a strong start, they've lost the fuck out of the plot the last few years with their cap and personnel management. They're still living off of a legitimately historic performance at the expansion draft table. The whole thing was genius, even if it looks to have been a fluke in retrospect. But did they ever fuck the rest of the league up the ass in their first opportunity.
Makes the NHL more fun. Which is what is needed.I mean this is usually how that trader cliff style of building goes. Windows are short and mistakes are made, but it’s fun so I won’t knock ‘em.
Yeah, and I don’t really get the hate on. They were immediately a good hockey team and now they’re just doing their thing. Like the franchise frankly.I mean this is usually how that trader cliff style of building goes. Windows are short and mistakes are made, but it’s fun so I won’t knock ‘em.
Yeah i never got the hate for Vegas.
The only thing that bugged me of course is that the hockey world took way long to realize that the Pacific has sucked balls for a long long time, and gave all the Pacific teams including Vegas way too much praise.
Holy fuck, why did you just tell me that, how depressing.I wouldn’t say I hate Vegas, but I was definitely cheering against them during their inaugural season Cup run, and to a lesser degree in their seasons since. And that mostly comes down to spite and jealousy.
Leaf fans have experienced decade-long periods of absolute playoff-less futility, the franchise has never won more than two playoff rounds in a single season in their entire 100+ year existence, and we haven’t even won a single playoff round since the internets was still a fairly newfangled thing.
But then these newbie bandwagon fans get to celebrate a Cup win right off the bat? Fuck that. Very glad they didn’t win.
Vegas also gets a lot of hype for what a great hockey market they’ve been, but the true test will be how much support the team still gets when it’s no good.
How about not doing what they’re doing?I don’t know what other “marketing” the NHL can do. It’s simply not as popular.
