It's too bad McDavid couldn't use his platform to speak out a little more but I know better than to expect hockey players to rock any boats.

It's getting late in the game for the impasse to continue.

I wonder what their plan is with him, being over the cap, Kerf, and the other loose ends. The roster is obviously not final. I hope he has some fun creative trade he's working on.
 
There easily could and should be one though. All that’s needed is the trade of a really risky asset we’re apparently insisting on holding.
 
I mean, I have sympathy and all but he's a 29th overall pick from a draft where he's currently 8th in GP by a defender, and the club he's played those games for is a combined 6th in xGA over those 3 seasons that he was eligible to play games in. You're at worst 7th on the depth chart right now and a healthy #7 on the Leafs is going to get 50-60+ games next season...also, the coach doesn't seem to love Holl anymore at all, so his minutes are definitely up for grabs, if Holl isn't already pencilled in as the #7 on Keefe's board as is.
