I go back to that 2013 48 game season. He appeared at times to be turning the corner into being a #1 C and great. Then it didn't continue. There were failures prior to that in developing him by Burke and co.

I’ll be happy for him if he gives full value over the seven years of that deal, but I’ll still need to see it to believe it. I think it’s kinda unprecedented for a 50 point player to become a consistent 90 point player at age 32, so I’m expecting him to fall back to earth.

In fairness at the time he was sorta breaking in he was not well liked by his teammates. I have a friend who went golfing with a couple of his teammates and it was a lot of "he doesn't listen to anyone" and "he's fat and doesn't even try to condition himself in the summer" comments. I mean I guess that could be racism too but I do think he had an issue of being a little too cocky early on. Don't think that's necessarily uncommon from kids who are top ten picks tho.
