I get it as well. Huge market indeed. But at some point you've lost too much $ and it's not worth it. It actually would have been better if they left years ago, then tried Phoenix area again a second time. There's been issues since they arrived in 1996.I'm probably alone in this but I sorta get why the NHL wants Phoenix to work as a market. It's a bigger TV market than a lot of places they already have teams in (Tampa, Seattle, Miami, Minneapolis, Denver, St Louis, Pittsburgh, Raleigh, Nashville, Columbus) and a big snowbird location. It should in theory be workable. Don't think being a shit team almost their whole history has really helped.
The college rink thing is pretty damn embarrassing though.
