Boo hoo. Glad they’re out.
Not Colorado?Minny plays a starring role in the remaining west games.
Holy shit those contracts look terrible. Issue is they signed guys at 29 and 32 long-term who were never going to match those seasons ever again. If they were going to win with them, it had to be early. Missing the playoffs is unbelievable.Man Flames look rough with that Huberdeau and Kadri contracts yikes

Treliving's contract is now done but it seems he hasn't gotten much crap at all.
Exactly, they should of been locked up years agoIf you go back as well, Tkachuk and Gaudreau would have stayed. He made that situation himself with both wanting out.
Nerd stats say Calgary is a good bet to bounce back. It is the markstrom contact that looks the worst of them all though.Man Flames look rough with that Huberdeau and Kadri contracts yikes
Apparently the Flames are only the 3rd team ever to lose 30 1-goal games in a season. Some of that has to be luck.Nerd stats say Calgary is a good bet to bounce back. It is the markstrom contact that looks the worst of them all though.
Treliving tried to be cute and get Tkachuk on a "Cheap" cap hit for 3 years. He's even said he would have signed 6-8 years. Gaudreau was offered his big deal the week before he was going to be UFA.Exactly, they should of been locked up years ago
I believe they will. Given their contracts though the clock is ticking. This year being a waste hurts.Nerd stats say Calgary is a good bet to bounce back. It is the markstrom contact that looks the worst of them all though.

worked out for dubas. The big lesson from the cap era is to identify your core and pay them. Don't dick them around, don't try to bridge them. Pay them and then squeeze everyone else.
I dunno, an argument can also be made that an underpaid superstar can win you a Cup or two (Kucherov and McKinnon come to mind).
