That wasn't the Leafs problem at the point of dumping though, they were ready. Just not for Keefe's system.

The Habs played four rookie D regularly this year. Four. Sure there were zero expectations and they made a lot of mistakes along the way but all improved greatly by the end of the season.

Point? I think the Leafs could have managed 1 or both of Sandin and Lilly and they would have been more than fine considering they were already way ahead of the four in Montreal.

Only answer is they were too soft for Keefe.

the crazy part is that when all our dmen got injured early in the year, Sandin-Liljegren played pretty much top pair minutes and duty and not only looked great doing it, but the team had it's best performance (both record-wise and defense-wise) of the season.

Yup. Keefe is a must fire and Dubie better realize that to avoid being the same.

The fact that Keefe hasn’t already been dumped isn’t a good sign though.
