Around the League 2019-2024 Edition

LOF style is disregarding bullshit stats that can be explained away if you watched the games and remember what actually happened.

If you didn't, then you're stuck with shitty stats that don't tell the actual story.

You ignore everything other than the eye test that tells you Tavares is worth $11m.
The superiority of my eye test is well established over a couple decades, including going back to our debates about your fave Jason Blake who was trash and fifth liner Plekanec who you penciled in as our great new 2C, and many others you’d like to forget.

And your Tavares takes will age just as badly, it’s just taking longer because you’re waiting for him to go bad and he just won’t comply over this long term deal. If you don’t know it yet, you’ll be one of his biggest fans after he retires and will look back fondly on his Leaf years, so this ends up working out well for you, even though you’ll have been very wrong throughout these years.

Jason Blake was the best Leaf on a team with no forwards and only cost 4m. He scored as much at even strength as your $11m man.

Plekanec was as good a playoffs producer for us as your $11m man, but with much tougher usage being asked match up against Bergy, and withich less PP time.

Leafs playoffs scoring:

Plekanec 7gms, EV 23gl/47pt pace, PP 0gl/0pt pace (hard matched on Bergy line)
Tavares 31gms, EV 24gl/42pt pace, PP 5gl/16pt pace (sheltered ozone usage)

neither my eyes or memory can confirm this.

if only there was another way.

that was peak zeking...that year, Pleks was demoted to the 4th line on an offensively starved Habs team

I should’ve claimed they were great so that you would’ve then provided the stats that confirmed they were total shit.

Well I think we can all agree that you were literally the only one that was excited about the prospect that was the top goal scorer in Russia playing with Malkin.

But Blake >

And Grabo was our best player.

You can frame the conversation however you like, but I wasn't busy comparing Kulemin to anyone. I just said I liked the player, had high hopes for him, and once I saw him in action on the Leafs, said he was good enough to score 30 and would. Everyone laughed, until they didn't.

I liked Grabovski, not sure why you're bringing him up.

But Blake was trash. He was brought in to be a first line winger and he was pure garbage, and we all rejoiced (except Zeke) when he was dumped.

Amazing the expectations placed on Jason Blake for making $4m. Even leading the team in scoring wasn't good enough at that price apparently.

With Howden signing for $1.9m the Knights have max $2.5m to add one more forward.

Howden--- Eichel --- Stone
Barbashev --- Stephenson --- Cotter
Amadio --- Karlsson --- Marchessault
Kolesar --- Roy --- Carrier

Martinez --- Pietrangelo
McNabb --- Theodore
Hague --- Whitecloud
Hutton
