Amazing to think how differently Bergeron and that Bruins core would be perceived in retrospect if Tim Thomas hadn’t swooped in out of nowhere and dragged them kicking and screaming to a Cup in 2011 with one of the greatest playoff goaltending performances of all-time.

Yep. Tim Thomas saved their legacy. they'd be the biggest chokers ever and he's been gone from them since 2012.
One could argue Thomas' 2010-11 season is the best ever for a goalie. Only knock against it is less GP than any top starters. He won everything that year possible.

Jeff Gorton got them a cup.
They drafted stars in the 2nd round for 3 straight years and Chara was the best UFA signing ever. That same day they signed Savard as well. One of the better UFA signings as well. The cheap shot ruined his career.
