Around the League 2019-2024 Edition

Maybe I'm not up to date on this... if those are the 5 players why did the sens banish Formenton to Russia? And why is comtois unsigned?

I checked the comment section, sounds like a few of those players were already private (Dube had been private for a couple years apparently). So they may not all be accurate.

BTW the Ottawa contracts are really screwing Anaheim right now. Zegras and Drysdale are both unsigned (No talk of it though because they are not Leaf players) and both deserve huge contracts based on their #'s.

They gave Terry dumb money , Zegras wants more

Which one? The 8.3 million dollar deal for the 90 point centre, the 8.2 million dollar deal for the best powerforward in the world, or the 7.9 million for the 35 goal scorer (in 66 games)?

There's better examples than the set of Ottawa deals. Suzuki, Caufield, Svechnikov, Ryan Johanesen, Keller....all got paid before putting up exciting numbers for their age.

Issue is they were 40 ish and 50 ish point players when they got that. Brady Tkachuk had 44 points as a career high.

52 point pace for a 21 yr old in 18mpg playing with no one (Brady led the team in scoring that year, Connor Brown was 2nd ffs) is pretty, pretty good.

Likewise, Stutzle's 58 points as a 20 yr old without a whole lot of offensive talent around him was pretty, pretty good and both are now looking like bargain contracts and smart risks.

Ottawa was smart to pay them, and unless Zegras is asking for something insane, Anaheim should also just pay him.

My first thought was why the hell would you actually give him the phone.

But then I thought, some of these guys are just trying to crack the league or are journeymen who's NHL existence is week to week. Mike Babcock is the gatekeeper to a comfortable life where their families are provided for vs. having to eek our a living as a power skating coach back in their home town.

That is some messed up shit.
