Around the League 2019-2024 Edition

Dubey has liked the defensive metrics of a bunch of shit players.

I think that's the problem. It's not that he's smarter than the rest of the league, it's that he thinks he is.

definitely strange that he sabotaged his own stars and scrubs model by locking in the bottom of the roster with guys who couldn't easily be bumped up and down to the ahl and leave room for breakout kids.

Yeah, ole Dubey really loved him some milquetoast, low-event depth forwards.

The entire system was built on the idea that 5 guys were going to generate all of the events on the way to a cup.

Everyone else? Their job is to generate no events in either direction.

It's basically this plan but on a hockey team:

In reality it showed us what happens when you think you identified a market inefficiency that isn't actually a market inefficiency. The market giving away low event hockey players for cheap wasn't a glitch in the matrix.

A year ago he was a complete fixture on a team that considers itself a contender.

Today he's on a 2 way contract with an ~85 point club. He remains in his physical prime. Make that shit make sense to me.
Maybe u need glasses??

Looking at Pittsburgh's forward group.

Man, Dubas is doing the thing again where the bottom 6 will provide no offensive support to the top 6. Noel Acciari might be the best offensive bottom 6'er after Jeff Carter and he appears to be getting older at a Temple of Doomesque rate.

And we would give spots to guys like that over our young players.

2yr paces (reg + plyf)

Carter (39): 18gls/40pts
Eller (34): 12gls/28pts
Acciari (32): 13gls/23pts
Nieto (31): 9gls/21pts
White (26): 8gls/20pts
O'Connor (25): 9gls/19pts
Harkins (26): 8gls/15pts

yeah that's even worse than the leafs last year.

And our top 6 deep dicks theirs from outer space as well.

If Karlsson isn't legend mode Erik this year, Pittsburgh misses by 10 points

Kept the core 4 intact instead of making an impulse trade to make a mark.

Extended Matty to a fair deal locking him up for the foreseeable future.

Signs arguably the two best UFAs without term. Reaves deal aside, didn’t dive in to dole out stupid money deals to overrated junk

Successfully navigated the arb process to keep the goalie in place.

Seems to like kids challenging vets and ships out at least one guy for value instead of just dumping guys. Presumably trying to do the same with Jones and Jarny.

Had a great draft to pull Cowan and who knows who else.

All that’s missing is the Willy extension.
