Around the League 2019-2024 Edition

Young teams often take a step back before that next strep after a breakout. They should be fine next year.

They've got a nice core, but they've got a bunch of 30+ guys under contract who are built to win now, and a very meh looking goaltending situation. They're not a sure thing contender at all imo for the next 2-3 years.

After that, they're probably pretty scary though if they can get/keep everyone signed.

As usual with "young" teams, they're not as young as people think. Only a few guys under 25.

Media spent a lot of time mourning the leafs loss of fringe luke schenn, while not noticing that the devils lost graves and severson, 2 actual top 4 dmen.

The Hughes bros look great. Not sure the rest is anything to write home about tho.

If there really was a way for Jersey to trade for Hellybucyk then they truly bungled not getting it done.

Stud veteran goalie is exactly what they need and they should 100% be willing to throw a big bag of the secondary talent + prospects/futures at one to get him.

Imagine being in a situation where you fancy yourself a contender and have to ask the question, is Petr Mrazek a goalie upgrade for me? and sadly answer, yeah, maybe, i dunno? fuck it?

Barrie & Klingberg are kinda carbon copies of each other career-wise.

Former 50+ point defensemen who decided to “bet on themselves” rather than take a big-money long-term deal from their original teams that they perceived as less than they could get as UFA’s in a year or two. Only to see their careers fall off a cliff to the point where they aren’t even NHL-caliber players anymore.

He said they're not the only ones and truculence isn't the only requirement. Skill is important.
