Eh, Detroit and the Isles are both 3 points up with a game in hand.
With 15 games left (and Jersey 1 point back of them), that's pretty close to toast. 84 point pace overall, meh.
They play Detroit tomorrow night. They need to win that. Going down 5 points of WC2, Detroit with a game in hand and only 14 games left would be lights out.

Well to be fair, I don't think they were considered cup contenders. Just a breakout regular season team.
Craig Button had Ottawa in the conference finals though.
