He's only signed through next year, and who cares about the cap hit.

He'd at least play with some bite and make life tough on teams, maybe give your smaller players more room.

And maybe you can ditch him at the deadline next year and actually get something for him if he's doing okay.

A gamble worth looking into if there's nothing else going on.

We took a pick to take on Monahan's contract. Another to take on Laine. Unless a high pick is coming back why should they? Trouba sucks.
 
Feels like this was an easy situation where you could add some low ceiling prospect to it, take his full contract, and get maybe a 2nd instead of a 4th. Would've been worth it. But I'm glad he's out of the conference, so I wouldn't have wanted you guys to do it. Just would've tried to pull something off if I were them.

I prefer Xhekaj. Don't need Trouba and yeah, good riddance.
