Around the League 2019-2024 Edition

Crazy that the Avs have lost Rantanen, Landeskog, Kadri and Bryam and have Necas, Kokt and Middlestat to show for it. Sakic must just be mailing it in after the cup.

You would rather keep marner for 1/2 a season than trade him for those 2?

This is assuming he turns down a 13-14 mil per season offer. Far better than kot and necas

Yes. Karlsson isn't something I'm interested in having here, and Malkin looks washed to me. I'd rather just have the cap space.

Someone with a transactional relationship to sports doesn't spend years on a website talking about all aspects of sport with strangers.

Like it or not you're a sports junkie just looking for another hit of dopamine
If there was an admission fee to pay to be in this platform I wouldn't be here.

I used to think I was a sports junkie (hockey in particular) but when the lockout happened in 2005 I realized that life went on quite nicely without it and I would have been fine had they canceled it for a second season. What these work stoppages proved to me was that my sports watching wasn't so much a passion but merely a habit. And like any other habit it can be broken.

I still watch hockey but while I used to dream as a kid of having access to all the games, now that I do have that access I don't use it for anything but the Habs games which would otherwise be blacked out in my region. Aside from that I never watch any of the other games.

As for other sports, the only one I watch a lot of is CFL football. I get all the NFL games but I only watch football on a Sunday if I'm home with nothing better to do and few NFL games are must-see for me. Baseball I watch once in a while but since the Expos moved to DC I don't follow the sport closely. I avoid the Blue Jays completely as well as the Yankees. But back in the day I never missed an Expos game and attended several games every year.

Basketball? I haven't watched a game in its entirety since the Grizzlies played in Vancouver. I'm told that the Raptors won the championship a few years back but I never saw a minute of any game they played. Same goes for college ball. The sport is a rumor to me.

So no, I'm not a junkie for any sport. Not anymore and not for years. If im in Montreal I'll go to a game. The only Oilers game I'll be at this season is when the Habs come to town.

avs haven't freed up much capspace tho.

also, they're both kinda crappy but i wouldn't want to pay kotkaniemi that kind of money. Drury's cheap at least.
