Around the League 2019-2024 Edition

Well he is a 23 year old two way dman that has been an elite 5v5 producer this year with good d numbers in non sheltered top pair minutes and has played 20 mins on a cup winner.

I guess my concern is that his nerdies have sucked dick until this year, where he's on Dahlin's pairing and has okay just okay nerdies while Dahlin's are insanely good on such a shit team. The production bump from the blueline would be nice, but Berube doesn't let his defenders sell out for offence, and a guy with real gud production and meh to bad nerdies usually means he's selling out to generate offence.

But yeah, not quite 24 yet which is young. I don't know how much I'd be willing to give up for him though.

It’s a big dick move if you think byram can slot into your top 4 today with room to grow.

Their third youngest dman today is rielly, and their only real d prospect is bad bam bigelow. Behind him you have the somewhat interesting Chadwick and Villeneuve but both are long shots. Niemela not looking like much either.

To me, a 23 year olds d who makes you better today with the potential to anchor your d for the next several years is way better deployment of trade capital, and I’m hard pressed to think of any leafsnprospect or pick I wouldn’t table.

I'm hard pressed to see them not asking for Knies though. I doubt they're looking for futures that won't be on the team until Dahlin is 27-28+, Thompson is 30+, etc. They traded a 25 yr old 2C to get him, they're not trading him straight up for Cowan or a 1st.

and if he's actually good (yeah, I'm not convinced, but sure) then someone will give up that type of piece. A similar age, similar impact young forward.

Trading within the division? Offer would have to be exceptional. I don't see them dealing in the Atlantic. Even Tuch and Tampa, it'll have to be an overpayment.

Not against using knies to get a top d but don’t think byram is that guy.
