It seems Florida isn't very interested in keeping Ekblad. Rumours were they tried to move him last summer. I think he is Ekblad's replacement.
Ekblad is a gonerCan’t judge him on a shit organization , he is insurance if they don’t sign Ekblad
I think he will fit in well
Bolts will be more aggressive than us of course.
I'm a big fan. Also, he was really good at 21 when they won the cupByram is pretty meh, no?
Well he is a 23 year old two way dman that has been an elite 5v5 producer this year with good d numbers in non sheltered top pair minutes and has played 20 mins on a cup winner.
It’s a big dick move if you think byram can slot into your top 4 today with room to grow.
Their third youngest dman today is rielly, and their only real d prospect is bad bam bigelow. Behind him you have the somewhat interesting Chadwick and Villeneuve but both are long shots. Niemela not looking like much either.
To me, a 23 year olds d who makes you better today with the potential to anchor your d for the next several years is way better deployment of trade capital, and I’m hard pressed to think of any leafsnprospect or pick I wouldn’t table.
Not against using knies to get a top d but don’t think byram is that guy.I'm hard pressed to see them not asking for Knies though. I doubt they're looking for futures that won't be on the team until Dahlin is 27-28+, Thompson is 30+, etc. They traded a 25 yr old 2C to get him, they're not trading him straight up for Cowan or a 1st.
and if he's actually good (yeah, I'm not convinced, but sure) then someone will give up that type of piece. A similar age, similar impact young forward.
