We’re going to be left to watch Treebitch pay a Brock Nelson-esque price (or more) for Brayden fucking Schenn, aren’t we?
 
I wonder if Hintz is going to Carolina in the Mikko deal.

It seems there is only a fewhuge overpay candidates left on the market in Schenn, Cozens and maybe Marchand.

Then a collection of dudes that are probably going to cost a first+ despite not being worth it in Laughton, Donato, Palmieri, Boesser, and then a bunch of guys you can set 2nd's and 3rds on fire for like Tanev, Kunin

Of those choices, i think the best value, is probably Boesser/Palmieri as a W, followed by i dunno, do nothing? I have less of a handle on the D available. WOuld Oleksiak or Ferraro be good? I think Schenn is going to cost a ton and not be worth the price at all, the reputation seems to have outlived the quality of that player

This is the sensible decision. If you cant find a move to boost you past FLA/TB, why set picks on fire just so it looks like you are trying?

I dont know what needle movers are left besides Rantanen
 
I think the nerd in Carolina made this deal more because of selling high on Necas ( he might have been wrong). I also suspect the Canes owner is fucking insane.
