so basically, Hall was worth **** all to other NHL GMs.

that's the best the Sabres could do...with multiple teams bidding. the other offers must have been fugly if that's the case.

he's been so bad this year I guess even getting more than the 2nd was an accomplishment.

will be interesting to see what his next contract will be.

With recency bias being what it is, Hall playing well for the Bruins in a deep run will ensure he gets paid.

One thing here. They signed a guy like Simmonds to be harder to play against, and or edge and he kinda looks like a ghost. I assume Foligno is in part addressing that.

yeah, none of Simmonds/Thornton/Vesey/Barabanov/Boyd/Anderson have overall panned out into much on the ice. the 2 older guys were decent before they got hurt but their games/seasons have been completely derailed by injury and sitting out. neither has been able to find an effective gear since returning. Nash and Foligno are I'm sure in part an attempt to shore up that bottom 6.

I can see any of Simmonds or Thornton as a healthy scratch in a playoff game if there are no injuries. IMO they haven't been great.

Not sure who would win the battle for the last spot but Nash might be the best option, with both Joe and Wayne in the box.

Hard to see it being a good why when Hall was cheaper and is better than Foligno.
