Around the League 2019-2024 Edition

ah crap this was the wrong thread.

anyways - yeah spezza has been kinda bad.....but tbh he's been one of the few clutch guys for us when we really needed a goal the past couple of years, and he's the only guy on the 2nd PP unit that can actually QB that unit, so i still have a bit of a hard time keeping him out of the lineup.

matthews shouldn’t come off the ice on the PP come game 1 - which could replace Spezza on their. But Spezza’s ability to win a face off is very handy to play 4ish min a game on that 4th line with solid players around him - and when on he is a threat to score. Rather him vs the other old man options in our line up atm - but if one of the kids is on a heater going into the playoffs rather give them a shot

Tripping on the puck, landing face first and losing your front teeth is incompetence. Kicking the puck onto a Bruins stick is sub conscious bias.

No way. It’s instinct to want to kick the puck away from himself and incompetence to not be able to refrain.

Either that or he had a brain fart. Realizing that he got in the way, he kicked the puck to the vicinity it would have gone had he not been there.

I couldn't tell who it was... but that would be a rookie mistake. Officials should know that sometimes they're going to get in the way... you don't "correct" it... just get the fuck out the way.

That was my take as well... puck hit him and for some reason he panicked and thought he could correct his effect on the play by putting it where it would have gone had it not hit him. Seems like something they'd teach you NOT to do pretty early in ref school though.

It's one of the things drilled into their head is that they are a part of the ice surface, boards, etc. Puck hitting a ref is no different than it hitting a stanchion and bouncing weird. There's nothing to correct by moving the puck where it was "supposed" to go.

Yup, of course, yet he did it anyway. Brain Fart.

Why is there ingrained bias to help the Bruins? I find that idea laughable. Kicking the puck due to a brain fart makes too much sense, adding in the conspiracy angle seems kinda goofy.

We tend to get a little loony here at times. I do think there's some evidence that when Greg Campbell played on Boston, Colin's influence impacted some things in favor of Boston. I recall there being some emails thrown around by Colin strongly implying preferential treatment for Boston. I have no explanation why that would continue today though.

Of course he did it on purpose. He knew there would be no video evidence of what he did. All just hearsay from sore players on the opposing team with no way to prove their claims. Perfect crime.

And he would have gotten away with it too, if it weren't for you kids and your crazy dog.
