He may be serious about taking less money to be on a contender too. Naz is built a bit different than a lot of these guys. Hyper competitive to the point of being a lunatic.

The thing is though, what’s his true value? This year looks like the mother of all aberrations. He’s never come close to these totals, not even once. He turns 32 before the season starts. If this year had been like any of his other years, he’s worth what, maybe $5.5m x 5? Less even? It’s no surprise no one is stepping up with 1C money at his age and with the rest of his body of work.

I hate to think about it but I can see Boston stepping up. They can use the ltir for Marchand, and begeron hasn't committed yet,

He was only ever a "50 pt player" because of opportunity. I've shown you the numbers before, on a per minute basis at 5v5, he's more or less identical to Tavares. Whenever he gets put on a top PP unit, he puts up .8-.9ppg or better.
The difference between Naz other years and this year was 19 minutes per night and being glued to the top PP unit. He's also prone to long shooting slumps, which he didn't have this year, but his SH% & OISH weren't crazy compared to other recent seasons.
