Around the League 2019-2024 Edition

Is Duchene even a guy worth putting money into? His teams never make the playoffs(he’s played on shit teams), he’s older now, is known to have had attitude problems. At 31 years old he’s not that old I guess. How is his skating at this point?

seems like Vegas had guys that were more “in prime” and hungry than guys who were good a few years ago.

I’d like to see guys that are still in prime.
 
Duchene does have a bit of Taylor Hall-ish stink to him for sure. But he sure would be an upgrade as a LW in the top 6 so I'm more than open to it.
 
ah they have some room.....after re-signing Colton and Byram they probably have room for one more $5m-ish type player.

Have to ask yourself why the Canucks didn't bother giving him a qualifying offer considering the Canucks have maybe two top 4 D (one of whom is defensively suspect & the other was out because of an injury)....and Myers is a $6 million dollar 3rd pairing guy. (re: health status)

edit: Bear is ideally a 3rd pairing guy that you might be able to slot up higher temporarily in case of injuries. I wouldn't offer him much (certainly not a multi-year deal unless its for like the NHL minimum wage).

Yeah I know he got crushed in the acute phase of his infection and missed some time and when he came back he acknowledged he had after effects and was really labouring. Hasn't been the same since. These guys have some incentive to keep that stuff quiet because their careers depend on it but it sounds like he's got some of what Brandon Sutter and Jonathan Toews went through. Sure there are more out there given the data on the likelihood of this.

Surprising if we aren't signing ROR or Bunting, that we wouldn't have found a way to trade their rights even for late picks the other day.
