Around the League 2019-2024 Edition

Sandin has had a hell of a start. Tied for 5th best dman in EW model and 8th in Doms.

The move was probably to move Rielly and keep him.

Would’ve been nice to give Cowan a shot instead of our handful of horrible forwards.

The caps have had a crazy start to the year but it's unlikely that Strome is a 120pt guy or McMichael is a 60gl guy or Sandin is a.....40pt guy.

We just played the caps and Sandin looked just the same as before.

Dubois looks the same as ever

Send to be a Canadian thing. Leafs aren't alone in that.

There's probably a relationship to the type of media coverage they get yeah. Very angsty and win now type coverage. It shouldn't surprise anyone that our best organizational moves came during a period where we threw up middles fingers to the media and told the fanbase to expect pain. They needed to hold on for 2-3 more years of that approach though and just played kids. No Marleau's, Thornton's, Simmond's, etc. We should have been trading the JVR's, Bozak's, Gardiner's, etc that we weren't intending to keep long term instead of focusing on being a good but not elite team so quickly.

you wanted to ditch Woll for Talbot.

Sure. Because I think Talbot had a good chance of being better/cheaper now and I don't think Woll is a reliable 1A option in the future.

22/23 (a total of 28 games across 2 levels) is doing a lot of heavy lifting in any analysis of him that doesn't come out suggesting he's meh or worse.

We're also at an actual "win now" point in our timeline. Way different than when Auston was 19-20-21.
