Around the League 2019-2025 Edition

What do you trade for that Hanifin type? We have no picks and need to keep Cowan.

If you play Robertson and Macchiato and they're producing offensively, you have young cheap assets again in a hurry.

I mean, here's their P/60 over 2 seasons prior to last year:

Mitch: 2.73
Robbie: 2.23
Mac: 2.17

Both struggled last year, but the talent is obviously there to produce.

If that fails, we have to look to picks and other futures, preferably not Cowan. But it is what it is. I like Cowan, but if he's not ready now (or looks on the cusp of being ready now) and he gets us a 1st line winger or real gud 2C in their primes, willing to extend here at reasonable money...well fuck, peace and good luck out there young man.

I've always been among the biggest proponents of Robertson. I'm excited/intrigued by Danza too. Definitely should be keeping Robbie and giving both a real chance to shine. I really hope they don't fuck up and throw Robbie away now when they need him most.

Cowan is probably going to be somewhere between good and very good, and it might be early on. If he gives me Knies-ian vibes from the start, I'm not dealing him for some 28 year old pretty decent guy. I'll roll with Cowan and hope he grows into that early, just like Knies did.

The best way forward now is using Carlo. Get a couple of the best remaining UFAs on one year deals. That's about it. We're not going to be players at the deadline on anything, having gone ALL IN with fucking Laughton.

It a world where Hague's and Romanov's are extending for what they are, we have to be cautious on throwing Carlo out the door without a good plan to replace him as well.

I haven't seen too much I'd miss from Carlo so far. He seems super pedestrian. Blends into the wallpaper. But he has a name, and if that can get us a young top 6 forward with upside, I'm rolling the dice.

Carlo is boring and fine but pretty good as a stay at home #4. The market is telling us that those guys are 5.5-6.5 millie now though, and we're paying Carlo 3.4

and moving OEL-Benoit-Myers up a slot isn't a good idea imo. Would rather give Robbie and the Fin-Tie a look.

Carlo is good and I like him. He's the Rielly partner they should have gotten a long time ago.

But for the right player I'd definitely trade his ass. He should have value. Top 4 rhd that has a + defensive reputation. Can easily get a solid second line player for him, just a matter of who, and ideally chasing someone with upside that the nerds identify.

Unlike Montreal still though, people not named Tavares also don't not want to play in Toronto, mate.
See: Dobson

Stated to Darche that Montreal was his preferred destination and took less to go there.

Turning a corner means everything.

Leafs need to turn that game 7 corner.
