Around the League 2019-2025 Edition

Reminds me of the time Sweden wanted to commemorate Peter Forsberg's winning Olympic gold medal goal against Team Canada in 1994 in their postage stamp:

They contacted then Vancouver Canucks goalie prospect Corey Hirsch to "re-create" the image along with Peter Forsberg. Understandably, Hirsch declined. :ROFLMAO:

Nah, they're just going to go after contract maximums. I don't think teams mind paying their superstars 14-15 million, but they don't want to do it for 8 years until they in their late 30's. What these young guys are angling for now is short term deals for big money until they're 28-30 and then the big money deal for 8 years that pays them into their mid to late 30's. The league should just negotiate down to a 5 yr term maximum (3 yr for +35 to close that loophole). Even give up a year or two of RFA control to get it if necessary (let's be real, RFA status isn't keeping contract values down anyway). The big guys will all sign 5 year deals at 22-23 yrs old, another one at 27-28 and then teams are off the hook by 32-33 when most of them have started their decline.
