Ouch. John better get on this. Won't be a better opportunity than this. He can beat TB and Philly easily. Harley was my only fear.

Really don’t see how Tampa could possibly make it work. They just don’t have the NTC/NMC-free assets to do it.

And the risk Werenski runs if he insists on a lopsided deal with Tampa is Columbus tells him to suck it up and report this season, and then next summer his full NMC goes away and he has to submit a 10-team trade list.

Considering Columbus wants roster players, it always felt like Knies or Harley made the most sense to me. Ntc-free young studs locked up long-term.

Please be aggressive, Johnny Chayks

He's poised to get a gross ass deal depending on what you think he is now and in 2 years from now.

Also, they dont badly need anything, they can stay the course if they really want to. Look for value, use kids.

They shouldnt do what Chicago just did and force the timeline with a bad move.
It's not a bad move to sign Andersson for free.

I guess Moser maybe doesn't have a NTC in year 1?

So moser would be their Knies piece and then it would be a competition of picks and prospects?

We kind of win that hands down though no? Tampa has no 1st in 2027 and a pretty pedestrian looking prospect group with a few Tampa Bay weirdo bets and not a lot else.

If Columbus strongly prefers Moser over Knies, I'm not sure how much the Leafs better secondary pieces helps. It could. They could get silly and aggressive and offer some realgud pieces. But Columbus may still prefer getting what they feel is the best primary piece.

Moser scares me now. Ok Knies, Cowan, McCabe, Avs 1st
Lunatic. You guys have all lost your fucking heads.

Let him reject the other bidders and make the Leafs the only realistic option. Drive down the price to the point where you can keep Knies and part with lesser stuff. If Columbus runs out of options then guess what, they either need to hold onto a toxic asset for them now, or they have to swallow hard on a lesser package. Ottawa had to with Brady. We've seen several bad trades in the last two weeks. Hold to your guns. Keep telling yourself that this is a luxury not a need.
