Of course, Edmonton has no goalies signed for next year.
A small detail...

Oilers just traded for Connor Ingram. Cratered last year, but has shown some promise in the past.

If you add all the 4/10 goalies with the 6/10 goalie you have a 14/10 goalie. He's might be better than Pickard, but unless his confidence is full on shattered now, he's not better than Skinner.
But, 3 below average goalies is better than 1. You only need one to get hot at the right time.
Only if that somewhere else was Florida.Or he feels like he dragged them there and would have multiple cups already somewhere else.
didnt they give Frederic 8 years or some such?
Has potential to be an elite goaltender thoughdidnt they give Frederic 8 years or some such?
they dumped their vet trash from last yearMaybe. But this is probably the worst Oilers team of the 3 on paper. The core is older and appear to be on the wrong side of their peak. The additions over the last ~year (Frederic, Mangiapane, Podkolzin, Kapanen) are 3rd-4th liners at best and pretty significant downgrades from Kane, Foegele & McLeod.
Even with shit goaltending they've made the finals in back-to-back seasons. McDavid probably feels that he has a good chance at winning a Cup in Edmonton.
Do the Kaprizov dance and ink termThen why continue to delay signing? Money and term are not an issue so why drag this out if he didn't have some concerns about the present and future.
