Around The League - 2024-25 Regular Season

He apparently was not keen on Quebec’s high taxes, relative to Alberta’s taxes.
Neither am I. My choice is to be surrounded by linguistic chauvinists or fascist rednecks so that's pretty much a wash. The cheap gas and ample free parking tipped the scales in Alberta's favor.

And yet it’s still the minor leagues compared to many US states.

That is just another contract that is fine in the beginning then geeman cries about it for the last 3 years.

I mean text book.

Also, Huberdeau isn’t that great defensively. Sutter is going to love him. Hubie has a history of sulking when unhappy with usage.

I guess reports Huberdeau was unhappy with move and would test free agency were wrong. Or perhaps money smoothed things over.

Guess his dreams of playing for the Habs weren’t that important to him when compared to a boat of money in signing bonuses. This is also a long term commitment to a place sight unseen. What happens if he goes there and hates it there, he’s going to be miserable for another 7 years. Or until he forces a trade out of town. Better hope it works out for him.

This is a unique situation and the Flames were nailed to the wall

He doesnt have big miles on his body and minimal playoff grind

Calgary is competitive and trying to win now

JH is a superstar and I expect to be a star for the first 5 years easily barring an injury

You see these deals all the time when stars are involved and you hope the last 2-3 years dont fall off the cliff

This is totally different than the fucked up deals handed to Price , Gally, Okposo, Lucic, Ladd , OEL , Skinner and the countless others

Those are total albatrosses from day 1 and their respective teams where going nowhere .

Solid trade for both teams

These no move clauses are a joke and we are now seeing with the McDonough deal how things change

Players get your fucken money with a handshake agreement that if things dont work out , a trade will be facilitated

Shit. Pacioretty has an Achilles tear and is going to miss 6 months.

That's a killer injury. Shit.
