Monahan should be moved in Jan/Feb.

The other players with expiring contracts will get very little to zilch.
 
Monahan seems like he'd be a perfect fit in a place like Colorado.

They need another center since Kadri left.

We could do a deal like Monahan (50% retention) for their 2023 1st + an AHLer (to even out the contracts)

There seems to be two other legit options for rentals at the trade deadline: Bo Horvat & Jonathan Toews. While I don't think Toews will be easy to trade, even if Chicago retains 50% of his caphit, Horvat has a similar salary to Monahan and his game is much more suited for the playoffs.

But we'll see. It also depends how many teams are going to be in the market for top-6 centers for a Cup run.
