Around The League - 2024-25 Regular Season

Just discussing immediate needs. They were both in win now mode and these guys need to step it up.

The Huberdeau contract was a little crazy, but I think Calgary had to pay out the nose to make sure that he'd stay. I think there's a very good chance he would have tried free agency if not for a contract that pays him stupid money.

The other thing about the trade is, both Huberdeau & Tkachuk were traded after having career years. Tkachuk's never been a PPG or > player in his career and his point totals last year are significantly higher than his previous best. At least in Huberdeau's case, he had a couple of seasons where he was > PPG for a while.

I dunno, a trade that kind of left both teams with a bitter taste, I think.

Todd is right. The best time to advocate for gun control is when something like this happens. Thoughts and prayers don't do anything. Gun control does. Price is on the wrong side of the debate, not because he's a hunter but because he has chosen to align himself with a fascist gun lobby group that would quite happily put AR-15's into every Canadian Walmart.

That's the truth of it.

Treating it like children with toys isn't the way.

Pretty easy to make a pipe bomb too. Aholes will find a way but reactionaries will always try to take your shit because you know, fear.
 
Gun control laws will be soon be even less effective given how easy nowadays to make guns at home. It takes some commitment though.
