Around The League - 2024-25 Regular Season

And the usual media eunuch, Jack Todd, is standing on those corpses to shit on Carey Price.

Surprise, surprise.

Terrible, I think Geeman said he knows the family.

Very sad , I know both families

Grandpa`s partner is my buddy`s 1st cousin

Devastating , the families are very close

Victor and his cousins adored their grandpa

His parents split up this year so this is very tough on him

That fucking lunatic was in that condo for a decade and was about to get evicted in court soon , then he goes postal

Unsurprisingly, a team full of players that had career years are reverting to the norm.

It's one of the reasons I thought they'd miss the playoffs this year. That & their defense doesn't scare anyone.
You don't substantially alter a presidents cup team. Zito thought getting "tougher" was needed for the playoffs and Tampa. Well you need to get there first. The Tkachuk trade was unnecessary and throwing in Weegar was simply idiotic.

They lost a ton of depth , this slide was inevitable

They were not handing Huby an 8 year deal at 30

They made a fine deal

The cap hit from Yandle goes down significantly next year and they’re too forward heavy, they needed to balance the defense. Just needed to drop one of their 2nd line forward.
I agree but not sure they had 6-7 mil for Weegar

Plus he looks like shit this year as does Huby

That Huberdeau + Weagar for Tkachuk trade has been a lose-lose for both teams so far.

The Huberdeau contract was a little crazy, but I think Calgary had to pay out the nose to make sure that he'd stay. I think there's a very good chance he would have tried free agency if not for a contract that pays him stupid money.

The other thing about the trade is, both Huberdeau & Tkachuk were traded after having career years. Tkachuk's never been a PPG or > player in his career and his point totals last year are significantly higher than his previous best. At least in Huberdeau's case, he had a couple of seasons where he was > PPG for a while.

I dunno, a trade that kind of left both teams with a bitter taste, I think.

If Calgary wasn't in such a win-now mode, do they make that trade? Let's say they were a 7th to 9th place team that got in (or missed) the playoffs by the skin of their teeth, do they make the trade? I highly doubt it. It seemed like a full-on reactionary, we have momentum and we need to keep pushing forward! type of trade for Calgary.
