Whoever made the schedule should be fired.

We've played something like 3 games against Bawstun, Toronto & Ottawa combined.

Such a dumb schedule. A proper schedule shouldn't have a team playing their only two games against a Western conference team within 9 days of each other.

Not just western teams. For example the Rangers twice in less than 2 weeks. Thank Buttman, he clearly misses animosity and fighting in the game.

That makes no sense. If for whatever reason Kane is shut down and not able to be traded, why would he sign a 1-year deal with them? He's going to want to go to a contender I would imagine. Either that or get paid on a long-term deal somewhere... and not likely with a rebuilding team like Chicago.

The one thing that I liked about the Covid seasons was the baseball like series. They could save a ton (money and fatigue) on travel by playing back to back games against the same team.

Kane apparently has his heart set on breaking Hawks all time record for points held by Stan Mikita

He should consider doing the annual Tkachuk deal.

Sign one year deals in Chicago front-loaded with signing bonus year after year, and get traded at the deadline to a contender.

He gets his money, gets to put up points in Chicago, gets to play for Cup contenders every year, and Chicago can accumulate assets every year.

Why? He's been with Chicago for his entire career and he's already got multiple Cups. Maybe he just wants to be where he's comfortable now while he plays out the string.

If he was still without a championship I could see the desire to chase one like Ray Bourque and others have done. But Kane has 3 rings and is treated like a king in Chicago. He has no real incentive to chase a Cup with a team of veritable strangers in a city that doesn't appreciate him the way Hawks fans do. And as Corey Perry found out, going from team to team trying to chase a Cup can make you look pathetic and ridiculous if you're always a year late and a team short.

To be fair... Perry was forced to take a show me contract with the Habs. Not even close to the Kane situation.
