Around The League - 2024-25 Regular Season

We're at 38 for next year (35 + Cole, RHP, Ylonen) with most of our main prospects already signed (Mesar, Beck, Kidney, Roy, Mailloux). I'm sure we'll be around 46ish to start the season, filing up the rest of the NHL and AHL team. We have quite a bit of wiggle room still.
Plus Hugo will ship out some vets

At some point Habs will hit the max amount of contracts, so I expect them to be quite choosy given the sheer volume of their own recent draft classes
true dat

according to cap geek we are at 48 of 50

Drouin Byron Wideman Schueneman, Allard Leskinen, Teasdale Bowey and Monahan are UFAs and likely won't all be re-uppes

Drouin, Byron, Allard, Leskinen, Teasdale, and Bowey are, or should be, gonzo. I don't know what Gurianov's status is but I'd ship his homophobic ass out of town the day after the season ends. Wideman, Schueneman and Monahan I could see being retained.

So Obrien refused to sign ?

I thought Philly never offered a deal
It's common practice to offer a basic-ass ELC that'll never get accepted, simply as a matter of fact. Not to mention, players headed to the NCAA have no reason to ever accept those ELCs.

It's similar to qualifying offers to withhold the rights of your players that are RFAs. Most players never accept the QOs, but they're giving out more as procedural paperwork.

Yup. Florida needs one point and they're in. Islanders & Pittsburgh both need to win out & Florida to lose for them to make it.

If Florida gets one point, they're in. In that scenario, Pittsburgh has the tie-breaker over the Islanders should both teams win out.

The Panthers were dead in the water 6 weeks ago. It literally took… what…5 other teams to 🦭 the 🐕 since for them to be on the cusp of qualifying.

Good grief.
