Around The League - 2024-25 Regular Season

Streaking, or being naked in public, is a crime so they're asking for it.

Having been to a couple of these I haven't seen anything like what you described.
I've been to the Pride parade and there was no overt nudity or lewdness. I've seen worse, less child-friendly behavior at hockey games.

Now, this I agree with. I've said it a few times here, but there's a good NHL player that I've heard some really fucking bad things about when he was in Junior. I wasn't there and can't prove it (and for that reason, I won't repeat it here), but he should be counting his lucky stars he's never had anything come out, assuming the whole thing isn't a fabrication.

And not just towards gay kids, too. The amount of times I've heard women say bad things about hockey players? There's a sense of entitlement that hockey players have. Part of it is, let's not hide it, hockey's a sport for rich kids. Another part of it is, culture within hockey. Just look at their reaction when one of their team mates gets hit. You'd never see that in football.
Just tell us what NHL team he plays for.

It's an "echo chamber" because it tends to obliterate the arguments of fascist sympathizers?
It's an echo chamber because any non leftist thought, on whatever issue, is not even considered and all they want to hear is their views regurgitated by others like trained seals. Dare say that Russia is not losing and you are called every name in the book. Those kind of echo chambers, like how Dumocrats only watch CNN or MSNBC and just dismiss the opposing views as racist, redneck or whateverphobic, or how Republicans only watch Fox and dismiss leftists views as commies/pinkos, anarchists. It is the same in Canada, there is an automatic response to what your side says as woohoo, good on you, to the other side, just dismiss.

In my circle, I have many views on many topics, I will read books supporting X, dismissing X, it is the only way to broaden the mind. Just like on FB today when you dismissed Dr Saad as basically just a right wing troll for no reason other than you disagree with him. I admit I do the same re Olbermann who I dismiss as incapable of getting a job.

It is the biggest issue in society, all we want to do is separate in tribes and shit on the other. It is 500 years after contact and we are back into tribes like the Iroquois vs Huron, English v French, etc.

It is sad.

Not for individual awards, I don't. I simply don't place an equal value on individual awards versus Cups/Bowls. One is a personal achievement that I, as a fan, don't give a shit about and the other is a team achievement that I, as a fan, can share in more viscerally. It was nice to see Lafleur win the Art Ross or Dryden to win the Vezina and Calder and for Robinson to win the Norris but if they didn't also win Cups I couldn't have cared less. Lafleur won the Art Ross. Dryden won the Vezina and Calder. Robinson won the Norris.

But "WE" won the Cup.
The key word there is WE.. you win the Cup with the right players .. that is why your constant whining about an individual player being a loser because a certain player did not win a Cup falls short.. LaFleur alone did not win us the Cup..

That was 50 years ago
