Around The League - 2024-25 Regular Season

Player development , trading vets , smart hockey decisions

More wins will come soon enough , many teams in the conference have their runs over

A bit more patience required
The 76'ers very intentionally tanked hard and proudly for five seasons. We can endure one last crappy season for some nice long-term upside. There will be a payoff.

Exactly future will be bright

Sixers regimes over the years have been brutal , terrible drafting and personnel moves

I simply don’t foresee a bottom-5 Habs finish unless there’s a repeat of injuries or young players regress

Because they, mainly the Colenagelo's, screwed up the immediate post-process years. They've gotten better since Morey was hired.
Colangelo was atrocious but I think Silver forced a move to make him GM

Morey should of punted Simmons ass out the door for a heist much earlier

Jo should be traded coming off an MVP year , Sixers going nowhere with him

They’re not trading Embid any time soon. They have to sell tickets and he puts fannies in the seats. They’ll keep trying to surround him with the right pieces for the next 3-4 years at least and hope they get lucky one year.

Agreed but they should and reboot

I'm looking around the league, we're most likely to finish last in the Atlantic. Philly will likely finish below us. Columbus could also finish below although they were just as ravaged with injuries as us and they added players this offseason.

In the west, Chicago, Arizona, SJ, Anaheim, and maybe Vancouver, Calgary and Winnipeg are likely to struggle as well (depending on whether Calgary and Winnipeg unloads more players).

We will be in that bottom 10 group IMO.

As it stands, we're going to finish in the 7th to 12th range.

Anaheim, Chicago, San Jose, Philly, those are the only teams in the league that I'd bet my next paycheck we'd finish ahead of.

After that, the Arizona, Columbus, Detroit, Vancouver, Nashville, Pittsburgh, Washington tier. I don't think Winnipeg or Calgary's going to fall below us, those teams aren't trying to tank and in Calgary's case, I bet they'll have a much better year now that Sutter's gone.

I'd be surprised by Winnipeg and Calgary as well. I think Pittsburg and Washington are still too in denial and will fight once more but who knows, maybe we pass Washington. On paper Detroit seems ahead of us and want to do a push. Nashville could fall, I never can get a good sense of that team.
