Around The League - 2024-25 Regular Season

KK and a prospect not named Caufield or Guhle. That’s it.
Other than Monahan (Cgy) there isn’t one team able to offer a 27 & under proven C capable of regularly playing 18+ TOI.

No KK, Danault + 1st....good luck to Jarmo finding a better deal.

I think the Laine name is being thrown out there by CBJ to create a bidding war.

This deal has now entered the Trouba phase, if rumors of bigger stage need are accurate...no team will give up multiple assets to a player they are not certain they can extend

I think we have our new candidate for worst contract in the NHL. Not just currently, I'm talking of all time.

Jeff Skinner, with 6 more years at $9M after this season, started on the fourth line early this season and played 9 minutes tonight.

Oofff.

No none saw that coming..

Ultimate question - would Danault agree to an extension w CBJ? If so, sign & trade.
I'm gonna play conspiracy theorist.

Doesn't the timing of Mathias Brunet's report feel like it was leaked on purpose?

We hear next to nothing for months and months, and suddenly, with PLD available for trade, we're hearing about this now?

I don't think that's just a coincidence. I think they might have just done that on purpose as a kind of, you want to stay here, at home, playing on a contender, or do you want to fuck off to Columbus where you'll look worse and probably get less money because of it?

PLD will go for less than ppl think and Hab fan will bitch that they should have beat the offer
It'll depend on what salary we send back. There's a good chance we could beat the trade in terms of "value", but if we can't fit him under the cap because Columbus doesn't want one of the contracts we're willing to give up (Drouin/Danault), then it doesn't mean much.

Ya, it seems a little weird.

F*ckin right it does, especially w Danault having publicly stated 2-weeks ago that there haven’t been ANY contract discussions..

Add to it 11 TOI last night...for more conspiracy effect
