Around The League - 2024-25 Regular Season

I agree with that. It's almost everyone's behavior on the ice after Larkin got knocked out that bothers me.

Like, the guy is knocked out on the fucking ice and you have these fucking cretins tussling around his body? They're one bad slip from a catastrophe.

But these fucking chimps are too busy trying to out alpha each other.

Perron is the only one who deserved a penalty. Everything else was just an unfortunate accident stemming from a legitimate hockey play.

Just because a guy gets hurt doesn't make it an automatic penalty. It's an inherently dangerous sport.
A hockey play? Joseph cross checked Larkin in the head and knocked him out.

No he didn't. He did what happens in front of the net a hundred times a game. It was a shove. The only player who actually got cross checked with any real force was when Perron nailed Zub after the whistle.

Of we're going to call penalties just because a guy got hurt on a play the NHL may as well pack up shop and cease operating.

Yeah Perron should be suspended... But what was the "hockey play that happens 100 times a game" that knocked out Larkin?

Kind of like when Evans was cheap-shotted and the only guy who was really shielding him from everything going on was Ehlers. Anyways...

Yup. At least Lehkonen (I think?) had the common sense to try to shield him the other chimps on the ice.

The scariest one is a few years ago when a Canucksdefenseman got knocked out cold, way worse than Dylan Larkins was, behind his net by Taylor Hall and all the players are fighting with skates literally inches from his neck. Scares the shit out of me every time.

I’m not sad that my son is done with hockey. He was fortunate to avoid a serious head injury.
I played until I was 16 and fell out of love with playing because I was on teams with such insufferable cunts for three straight years.

I only got one concussion when I was maybe 10 or 11, although it was never diagnosed. I never went to the hospital or anything, just walked it off.

I'm kind of happy I was never all that good at hockey and never took it that seriously because in hindsight, I don't know how my parents would have been able to afford the price of high level hockey.

mine was driven head first into boards on
a many occasions, never had a concussion, fortunate I guess
I tripped on a player stick and landed head first in boards, which gave me my only concussion. I remember virtually everything from that game and how damn I was that I wasn't able to get my body "right" so that I could go back on the ice.

There’s no way we’ll let our guy play full contact. It’s already a fast enough game with incidental collisions and wipe outs as it is. It’s out of the question.

While I hated seeing him laid out on the ice, he fucked up more players than he ever got fucked up. I remember first year Bantam in a Las Vegas tournament, he fucked a kid up on a Flagstaff team so badly the kid literally crawled to the bench. He hit a guy on a local team so badly he broke the other guy's collarbone.

Best of all he hit a guy from Van Washington
really hard and got a bullshit penalty for boarding. He came out of the box, scored and then saw me between periods, didn't saw gr3eat goal, he said, "did you see how I fucked that guy up". He loved hitting and pound for pound, was as hard a hitter of anyone in the divisions in which he played.

His mom always was worried as were most of the moms but the dads all loved the hitting. At least for mine, he loved it.
